OUR STORY

Jonathan and GretaJo’s journey to farm life began when they purchased the property at 263 Gracetown Road from GretaJo’s parents. For GretaJo, the farm was more than just land; it was her childhood passion. She had grown up riding horses, spending countless hours immersed in farm life, and building a deep connection to the rhythm of rural living. Naturally, when she and Jonathan decided to build their home and raise a family there, she felt completely at ease. But for Jonathan, the transition wasn’t as simple. Having been more accustomed to the bustle of the city, he wanted to discover his own place and purpose within the “country lifestyle.”

Determined to make the farm feel like home in his own way, Jonathan turned to Albert Thomas, a dear friend and mentor. Their friendship was built on their shared faith in Yeshua and their devotion to serving others, particularly in mission work. The bond between them was unwavering, and Jonathan trusted Albert’s wisdom in ways that extended far beyond agriculture.

Albert, a seasoned expert in horticulture with decades of success in the industry, was the perfect guide to help Jonathan carve out his passion for farm living. The two spent hours brainstorming, researching, and testing soil conditions to determine what would thrive on the land. Through careful planning and PH testing, Albert concluded that blueberries would be the ideal crop. And so, with newfound enthusiasm, Jonathan set out to cultivate a thriving blueberry field a venture that marked his own meaningful contribution to farm life.

What began as an effort to find his niche soon became a true labor of love, and just like the horses that had shaped GretaJo’s childhood, the blueberry field stood as Jonathan’s testament to embracing the land and making it his own.
